him-self, on the other side. The looks on their faces
spoke volumes. GD’s reputation was known even in the
enemy camp, and the fear clearly reflected on the
father’s face. The mother was in tears, as if she had
lost her child forever. They both stood right across the
border transfixed, unable to cross the line drawn on the
ground.
The soldiers on the enemy side pulled up their guns and
walked toward their colleague and closer to the border.
They were ready to attack if that was necessary to get
the girl back on to their side.
