                   CHAPTER 16

Misfit

An impromptu poem that literally sprang from my mind as I was reading a business magazine that was talking about demographics and behavior.

Why do we always try to divide people in segments and groups of color, race, gender, etc.?  Appreciating a person for what he/she is without any tags of color, creed and race seems to have been lost somewhere!

Extract :

The mirror amalgamated, reflecting a face I couldn’t quite place.
Piteously it said—
“Tolerate and don’t be zealous.
Favor a color; belong to a race.
Choose a religion; have faith.
Bow low and adapt; compromise and obligate.
And above all, don’t stand tall.”
